Personal message

Hi everyone, my name is Leane and I am now 8 years old. My big brother Gian has autism. I grew up seeing how my Mom & Dad did everything in their power to help my brother cope and helped him to be the best he can be. Popcornkidz helped my brother a lot and that is why my Mom started the Two Oceans fundraiser for them 3 years ago. Unfortunately my Mom broke her foot and cannot run anymore. She is very sad,  so I told her I will run in her place, but as I am way to young to run the half marathon, I will be running the 5.6km to help Popcornkidz with their fundraiser.

 

I am also running for my brother Gian. I am so proud of him and love him very much. I witnessed and stood up for my brother numerous times when other kids made fun of him and bullied him. Running this race I also would like to create awareness and to show everyone that although my brother is autistic, he and all the other kids like him has a place in this world, all they need is acceptance. Gian you are my superhero!
