Midrand SPCA

At the Midrand SPCA we believe that animals, as living creatures, have a value beyond economic measurement and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. We are mandated to protect all animals from cruelty, neglect and ill treatment that often results from ignorance of animals and to provide a place of safety and care for all animals in distress. Presently, our monthly running costs are in the region of R200 000 per month. Our inspectorate department investigates cases of cruelty to all animals and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We run an education programme to schools in our area of operation. The objectives are to improve the students understanding that animals are living, feeling beings and must be treated with respect and compassion. The Midrand SPCA provides veterinary services to the animals in the Informal Settlements within Midrand providing a clinic at our premises. Animals enrich our lives in so many ways. They give us joy, protection, companionship, and unconditional love. With the support of individuals, corporate companies, small or large we can raise the funding needed to maintain and improve our services to the communities we support.

We would like you to know that not only will your donation directly benefit the animals in our area but – through a sharing agreement between all SPCAs nationwide – a portion will be used in other, less fortunate areas to benefit animals over a wider area.  We feel sure you will approve of this outreach initiative and wish to thank you most sincerely for supporting our SPCA and the movement generally.
