Personal message
My name is Leane du Plessis, I am 9 years old and the proud little sister of a very special big brother, Gian. He is quite a character, a fun loving boy and someone that will always have my back. Unfortunately to the world's standards, he is different. He has autism.
I am always up for a challenge, but as I am way too young to run the half marathon, I will be running the Two Oceans 5.6km fun run on Friday 19 April to raise funds for Popcornkidz, a small organisation that helped my brother a lot when he was younger and have a special place in my heart.
As April is also autism awareness month, I am running this race, not only to create awareness for autism but also acceptance for all the special kids out there like my brother. I do believe everyone has a place in this world!
