CARE is a group of childhood cancer professionals who support childhood cancer research in South Africa. Currently, this is the only organisation in South Africa that is dedicated exclusively to this field.

We want to create a system where children with cancer in South Africa have the same access to quality care, leading to the same chance of cure and long-term survival as children in high-income settings. The recent fire disaster at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital has temporarily interrupted our efforts, and we need funding to continue our efforts.

We work together with clinicians and scientists all over South Africa, and many international experts to find creative ways to cure cancer in children. We participate in both local and international clinical trials to increase capacity in our state hospitals and gain access for our patients to experimental therapies and up-to-date methods of treating them.
