Madswimmer is a South African registered non-profit charity organisation which hosts extreme open water swims to raise funds for children’s charities.

Madswimmer will be hosting an extreme swim challenge in Zanzibar.

18 Swimmers from across the world including South Africa, Australia, Tanzania and the US will need to swim a gruelling 20km in one day between the islands in Menai Bay. The Zanzibar Island Swim will take place on the best weather day on November 26th or 27th 2022.

Swim route and distances (weather depending) is 20km.
Leg 1: Beach launch at high tide from Menai beach bungalows to Miwi island - 5km mark
Leg 2: Past Miwi Island to Pamunda Island - 10 km mark
Leg 3: Pamunda Island to Niamembe Island - 16km mark
Leg 4: Around Niamembe Island to the beach in front of Menai beach bungalows - 20km mark (FINISH)

Swimmers can either swim the full distance or a partial distance to raise much needed funds for children in need. Any amount no matter how small will make a huge difference!
