Personal message
As a director of Umthombo Wesizwe, I firmly believe in the value that this organisation will give to the future South African leaders participating in the programme. I shall be riding my 10th Argus this year to raise funds for Umthombo and ask for your support to help me achieve my target. My best time has been 4h17 and I shall aim for a time between 4h30-5h00. The highlight will be a sing-along on Edinburgh Hill with a UWC Honours Class choir, singing the Nina Simone Song ‘Young and Gifted’.
Please see the following YouTube clip to understand the difference we can make: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=RXB5awimx7Y

Umthombo Wesizwe's mission is to provide a platform for youth (11-15 years) from diverse communities in South Africa to develop an identity that will enable them to evolve as responsible citizens and ethical leaders within a multicultural society.

Umthombo Wesizwe Childrens Project

Umthombo Wesizwe (which means “Spring of the Nation”) is a Non-Profit organisation, whose purpose is to equip children between the ages of 11-15 years with skills to become ethical leaders, be proud of who they are while respecting and valuing the diversity of others around them. The programme is spread over a 3 year period and is designed to enhance experiential learning through camp-based workshops, monitoring of their individual progress and community projects. Via their participation in these community projects the children become role models to many around them thus leveraging the impact of the programme.
