Personal message

As I sit down to pen these words, my heart is heavy with a blend of gratitude for endurance and a plea for understanding.

For over 17 years, I have navigated the journey of marriage, a commitment that has weathered various storms.  Currently, my partner is facing unemployment, a challenge that adds an additional layer of complexity to our lives.  Yet, we persist, holding onto hope and resilience.

Adding to the tapestry of challenges, I find myself in the midst of my own struggles, having undergone cochlear implant surgery just a year ago.  I was born deaf and I'm limited in verbal communication.  While this journey toward better hearing is ongoing, it is not the sole burden on my shoulders.

My car, a faithful companion in the intricate dance of life, has become a source of unexpected trials. Subject to financial obligations and already under debt review, it now languishes in the workshop, undergoing diagnostics for a stubborn issue with its Electronic Control Unit (ECU).  The failure to recognize crucial signals, such as those from the camshaft position sensors, has left me grappling with alternative transport arrangements to fulfill my responsibilities at work.

The road to work and back, once travelled with the familiar hum of my Juke, now feels more challenging and uncertain.  I share this not as a complaint but as a plea for understanding, as the dependence on my vehicle is not merely a matter of convenience but a lifeline to stability.

In the face of these challenges, I have taken on the responsibility of actively seeking opportunities for my unemployed wife who is hearing impaired (lost hearing in one ear). Since her unfortunate retrenchment in October 2022, I have tirelessly submitted her CV to countless avenues, hoping for a breakthrough that would provide a reprieve in our trying times.

I am not accustomed to seeking assistance, but life's unpredictable journey has led me to this point. With vulnerability, I extend a plea for any support or understanding you may offer during these trying times.  Your compassion means more than words can express, and I am grateful for any solace you may provide.
