Trifinity:

Two close friends decided they wanted to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer whilst having some “fun” at the same time.

Glenn’s Brother Wayne tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident in 2001. Glenn has always pushed himself beyond normal sporting limits to feel that connection to his brother. As the race gets more difficult the memories pull him through. Doing something in memory of Wayne is paramount to Glenn.

In 2008, Bon's world was rocked with the news that her son, Jed, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Doctors told her Jed, who was four years old at the time, had just months to live. After three major brain operations, 35 sessions of radiation, and experimental chemotherapy, he passed away just three years later in his mommy‘s arms. Overwhelmed with grief, Bonnie spent months soul searching and healing. Bon made the inspirational decision to turn her pain into power and do something positive to honour her son’s life.

The crazy pair set themselves a challenge to raise funds and awareness for children like Jed!

The donations made from this event will go directly to Rainbows and Smiles; an NGO that supports children with cancer. (All costs have been paid for by Glenn and Bonni and no funds will be used for their expenses, entries or travels….all donations will be for the charity and it's mission).

The name of the event was given much thought.

Tri - 3 consecutive major events (climb, ironman, comrades)

Infinity - is significant as Buzz Lightyear was Jed's favourite cartoon and he loved the catch phrase 'To Inifinity and Beyond'. Our love is infinite; everlasting....

Glenn and Bon are ready to take the event 'To Infinity and Beyond' for what they are both passionate about and that is making a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

When you’ve lived through the unexpected death of someone you love, your heart has already been pushed too far. Your heart is pushed beyond the limits and now it’s time to do the same with our bodies.

Rainbows and Smiles Foundation

The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child or children of that family is diagnosed with a life threatening illness such as cancer. In addition, Rainbows and Smiles encourage childhood cancer awareness to educate in the hope of promoting early detection.
