THE FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE TRUST

Friendship Circle is a non-profit organization that provides services to those in need and their families. At the heart of the organization is a dedicated group of teenage volunteers who give freely of their time, devotion and unconditional love.

Although therapies and specialized schooling may be available to children with special needs, many parents feel that their child may be missing out on developing true friendships. The Friendship Circle addresses this need by providing innovative programming designed to foster relationships between community teenagers and children with special needs.

Each child is paired up with a specific volunteer who will pay weekly visits to their special friend throughout the year. The volunteer will get to know their special friend in an environment where he/she feels most comfortable and together they will partake in different activities such as baking, sports, playing board games etc. In this way, the volunteer and child form a special friendship that will last them a lifetime.
