Personal message
The Thomas brothers, whilst in their late 20’s, were training together to fulfill their dream to take on the Dakar Rally (the longest and hardest rally in the world). They were the perfect team: bike enthusiasts, talented, fit, young, both full of dreams and goals! David would ride, whilst his brother would be part of the support crew.
After the tragic death of his brother, David vowed to continue in his pursuit to complete the Dakar Rally. In 2017, he will finally crisscross the dunes of the South American deserts in this race, in loving in memory of his brother, Justin.
In addition, all funds donated via this campaign will go to David’s chosen charity: The Red Cross Children's Hospital.
Thomas has been a competitor on two wheels - with or without an engine - since he was born and raised in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Over the last thirty years he has seen much success, winning numerous championships. His journey to Dakar will be a defining moment in his career, but also an opportunity to give back to his chosen cause.

A hospital dedicated entirely to children – especially children predominantly from impoverished communities throughout Africa – is critically important. So important, that it needs a champion to make sure that it’s able to keep doing the phenomenal work it does.
That champion is the Children’s Hospital Trust.
