Personal message
Each one of the 30 runners who are running in support of The Care Bear Project, have donated R400 to the project. This R400 covers the cost of one complete knitting kit for one of our community knitters. Of this money, R300 is paid directly to the knitter when she completes and returns the six bears that the kit makes.
The knitters are the most amazing ladies, and each knitter would like to receive two kits instead of one, so we would like to raise an additional R12 000, which would fund another 30 knitting kits meaning each knitter would receive two kits and not one.
The knitters are so grateful each month for the income they receive, and they use this money to pay school fees for their grandchildren, or to put extra food on the table, or to pay for electricity, something most of us take for granted.
An additonal R300 for each of these ladies would mean the world!

THE CARE BEAR PROJECT

The Care Bear Project is a community project uplifting local rural communities, by providing employment and much-needed income for the families in the form of a knitting kit and payment for completed bears, and by using the product of their work, the bears, as a means of bringing joy to the children in the communities.
