Personal message

I said never again to cold and altitude after my 2013 adventure to Everest Base Camp but how could I say no to my little brother when he challenged us all to summiting Kilimanjaro the highest mountain on the African continent. So what seemed like a fun idea all those months ago, is fast becoming a reality as in 4 weeks time, me a 50 something with my sister in law Traci, brother David and nephews Joseph, Samuel and Theo (who will be just 12 years old) will be setting off on the 7 day trek . We are going with a group led by a team who have taken up youngesters as well oldies succesfully and an army of local porters!

We are using this challenge to support 2 causes -

SPCA Sandton - that prevents cruelty to animals and provides a place of safety and care for all animals in distress.

and

Alzeihmers Society that provide such support to our Dad, Len and us as we came to terms and dealt wiht Dads dementia.
