In early 2012 my life changed forever when my 9 year old nephew, Gregory Andrews, was diagnosed with stage 3 soft tissue cancer... The months that followed gave me a window into the world of what we classically all think "won't affect us", never before did I think that a loved one of mine would get cancer and then it struck... That sadly is what happens to most people, cancer does not give a year or two's warning, it just strikes one day and then it is there forever leaving its mark in your life... 

During the journey that followed in the coming months, we were informed that there was no treatment available for Greg's type of cancer and the treatment that was available would probably do more damage than good... During this journey, we had the priviledge of meeting many angels who stepped into our lives and touched them in an amazing way, one of these was Bonni from Rainbows & Smiles Foundation. Bonni herself has travelled this horrific journey and she can more than understand what people are going through... 

I made a pledge when Greg was diagnosed that I would swim the Midmar Mile every year in support of those who have fought the battle against cancer and those who still are fighting...
