We are proud to launch the Steps Uthutho Fund on 1 June 2020 to celebrate 2020 World Clubfoot Day. 

Steps Uthutho Fund is a transport and care package initiative to support clubfoot patients. 

With the increased stress at clubfoot clinics due to COVID-19 and the lockdown, we have expanded our campaign to provide PPE for the front line staff working at some of the 36 state clubfoot clinics that are short of stock, and taking daily risks to support patients. The PPE will also be used for dedicated parents and caregivers attending the clubfoot clinics to help minimise their risk of infection.

Travel to the clinics is an extra cost for families, and the cost of the initial regular weekly treatments is an added stress on their family income. Clubfoot Patients must attend the clinic at least 20 times for successful treatment.

Treatment can fail if parents do not attend the clinics regularly, resulting in disability. An untreated clubfoot means that a child cannot walk properly or wear shoes. 

The launch of the Steps Uthutho Fund is life-changing and will assist these families enormously.

We are asking you to join us and support the Steps Uthotho Fund that will work directly with our 36 partner clubfoot clinics nationally to identify the families who need it most.

Donations to this page will be used specifically for the Steps Uthutho Fund.

R100  - 1 clinic visit

R800 - 8 clinic visits (casting phase) 

R2 000 - 20 clinic visits (full treatment over 4 years) 

R150 - 1 care package (food and toiletries) 

R250 - 1 PPE kit for a health worker 

R300 - 10 masks for mothers attending the clinic
