Personal message
Hello, and welcome to my fundraising page.
This year, I have decided to Be A Sport and raise funds for MaAfrika Tikkun. This I will do by rubbing shoulders with another 35,000 equally crazy individuals that will brave the elements in an attempt to complete the 2011 edition of the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. If things go my way, I will cross the finish line of this beautiful race for the 10th time.
The MaAfrika Tikkun organisation is targeting to raise one million Rands in order to promote and develop sport offerings in previously disadvantaged areas. Their wish is to give less fortunate boys and girls the opportunity to improve the quality of their lives and perhaps also experience the thrill of participating in sporting events.
I know that most of you have participated in sport at some point in your lives and you therefore understand the direct and indirect benefit that sport brings to individuals and communities alike. I see this as an opportunity to reward ourselves by making a small difference to the lives of young South Africans and perhaps a big difference in the life of a few great dormant talents.
Please support MaAfrika Tikkun in this awesome endeavour by making a contribution to this worthy cause, however small.
Cheers
Stef

Afrika Tikkun

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
