Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the B50 Field Kitchen (named after the address Bratislavska Street 50) has been involved in preparing and distributing warm, cooked meals in Kyiv and the greater Kyiv region. Deliveries included the cities of Irpen and Bucha, where mass graves were found after their liberation in the first weeks of the invasion. 

The Gift Of The Givers has been supporting the B50 Field Kitchen with fresh produce for the preparation of these warm, cooked meals as well as with packaging materials and hygiene products, which are all needed for the successful and hygienic preparation and distribution of meals. 

To date, the B50 Field Kitchen has prepared and distributed more than 1 000 000 warm meals and has received acknowledgement from several international agencies and the Ukrainian government. 

The Gift Of The Givers has received an official certificate from the B50 Field Kitchen for their continuous support in funding purchases of fresh produce, ingredients, packaging materials and hygienic products. My aim is to raise enough funds to continue our support for purchases for the B50 Field Kitchen and other soup kitchens assisting individuals and families for as long and as regularly as possible.

To support the B50 Field Kitchen in Kyiv and other soup kitchens with fresh vegetables, fruit and ingredients, especially in areas where The Gift Of The Givers have been supporting since the hostilities began in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, I will make it possible for these field and soup kitchens to continue to provide warm, cooked, meals to literally hundreds and thousands of people.

I will be able to purchase fresh produce for the preparation of borscht (which is the world-famous Ukrainian soup) as well as other ingredients needed to prepare inexpensive, easy meals like macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice and corn dishes as well as making it possible to package and transport these meals to the elderly and people affected by the war. 

To support the B50 Field Kitchen only, cost in the region of R30 000 per week. Other smaller soup kitchens we support effectively cost us an additional R30 000 per week for products and gasoline for deliveries.
