Personal message

Base Camp Everest and Island Peak summitting for a cause to raise funds to help care for dogs and cats living in the township.

We will be summiting Island peak on around the 26th September 2017 and we need YOUR help. Our aim is to try and raise enough money to to help feed and provide veterinary care for as many dogs and cats in the township as possible. No donation is too small and it all adds up! All funds raised will go to PETS (PET EMPOWERMENT IN TOWNSHIPS). Please help us in our cause.

An example of the amazing work PETS does is the dog depicted in the poster named Aspin. Aspin was rescued from Orange Farm township in May 2016. She had been starved to the point where she has lost all muscle tone that she struggled to stand or even lift her head. With an incredible out-pouring of support from the public which made her veterinary care possible, today she is a thriving, happy, healthy and confident girl who is looking for a home to call her own.

PETS IS A REGISTERED , NON-PROFIT, PRO-ACTIVE, PRO-LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANISATION. (PBO No: 930025719)

The Johannesburg branch focuses on communities South of JHB such as Orange farm Township, Walkerville and surrounding areas.

PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships) strives to empower people in the townships and poor communities to care for their animals. They work with the community to improve the lives of these disadvantaged animals by giving them daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilisations and vet care in emergencies. They also rehome those ones that are unwanted, unloved or lost. They try to instil in the communities, a responsibility and pride for their animals by not just empowering them to better care for their animals, but also by educating and helping the people uplift themselves. They believe in working hand in hand with the animals and people of these impoverished areas to create unity, trust and stability for all.
