September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and on Saturday, 26th October 2019, two Durban businessmen with a passion for the community, Shaun Peschl and Gavin Drinn, will be walking along the Umhlanga Beach Promenade for 24 hours (approx. 120km) to raise awareness for Rainbows and Smiles to support Kidz with Cancer. The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child (or children) is diagnosed with cancer. The organisation currently supports 14 (this number changes all the time) children in Durban who are currently hospitalised, and the funds raised from this campaign will be used to brighten the lives of these young ones in the hopes of making their hospital stay a little more comfortable. The campaign will also drive awareness around the misconceptions and lack of understanding around childhood cancer throughout the month of September.
