Personal message

This year and cycle tour is another great opportunity and privilege to ride for a fundraising event close to my heart. While at the same time creating awareness about what wonderful work Home of hope is doing for these children. I feel honoured to be a part of this family and fundraising event.

This year my buddy is Thandiwe. She is an energetic and kind girl who loves sports and the outdoors. Thandiwe attends Amathemba Special Needs School as a result of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) which is permanent brain damage as a result of prenatal alcohol exposure.

Because of Thandiwe’s special needs, she requires special Care and attention, which is not always easy to give; that is why she had eight foster families before Home of Hope became her forever family.

No child should have to feel like they don’t belong or don’t have a Home. This is why I want to raise R12 000.00 towards the Care of Thandiwe, to assist Home of Hope to keep doing the great work they are doing.

Please help me, help Thandiwe. Together we can do more!

Cape Town Cycle Tour will take place on the 12th of March 2023.

Home of Hope

Charity Default Logo

Home of Hope was started in 2005, and we are an NPO that cares for abandoned and abused children and children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD – permanent brain damage caused by pre-natal exposure to alcohol). We are a registered place of safety and we have 19 children in our long term community based foster care.

The organisation also caters for the special educational needs of children suffering from FAS (Foetal Alcohol Syndrome) and neurological challenges, in our Amathemba Learning Centre. There are currently 37 children at our Amathemba Learning Centre.
