Personal message

I am participating in the Oceans 8 swim to raise much-needed funds for WILDTRUST. As an open water swimmer and lover of our beautiful oceans, I will make the sacrifice as a working woman with a family to train for this event as the charity I am supporting does so much good work towards Ocean Conservation.

I will put in the hard miles if you could sponsor me to help make a change in Ocean Conservation.

The inaugural Oceans 8 Charity Swim will be held on the 17th & 18th (19th) June 2022 at the Durban Undersea Club, with the 5 founding charities benefitting from the 8 Mile swimmers. I have selected the WILDOCEANS as I believe that their research and education goes along way to help save our beautiful ocean.

Charity Default Logo

WILDTRUST (registered as the Wildlands Conservation Trust – IT No.4329/1991/PMB) is a South African Non-Profit, Non-Government and Public Welfare Organisation, established in 2004 through the merger of two regional Trusts. It pursues the realisation of its vision of “A thriving and resilient world” through two core programmes: WILDLANDS and WILDOCEANS.

WILDLANDS focuses on conserving terrestrial biodiversity, empowering and uplifting communities through training as well as the protection of wildlife.

WILDLOCEANS focuses on marine conservation, advocating for healthy oceans, marine protected areas and the conservation of marine species. Furthermore, WILDOCEANS conducts extensive research and training for future marine experts and policymakers.

From humble roots in the KwaZulu-Natal Province, the Trust has expanded its footprint across Southern Africa, with projects as far afield as Mozambique and Comoros. The WILDTRUST continues to explore innovative conservation and development pathways that underline the interconnectedness between people and the planet.
