Annie, our nanny, is a Zimbabwean single-mom raising her two kids in Eersteriver South Africa.Russell, is her youngest child and he has just completed his Gr12 (matric)
Russell is the first in his household to go to college and has enrolled at Eduvos to study a Higher Certificate in Information Systems (Cyber Security).
It is a 3 year course, and we are really just taking it one step at a time.
Year 1 course fees: R55 352.28
Laptop and textbooks: R20 000
We are aiming to raise R25 000 to pay towards Russells laptop and textbooks and reduce his monthly course fee contributions. Obviously anything more would be amazing!
Why we need your help? As a Zimbabwean living in South Africa Russell is not eligible for NSFAS funding or a student loan from the bank or bursaries as these are reserved for RSA citizens.
Russell is working part time with me to cover the costs of his studies and his mom and sister are also working additional jobs to contribute towards his studies.
Just the daily commute to College is R60 per day (R1200 per month) via taxi and bus.
For most kids, the challenge is JUST the matric finals and they get to focus on only the studies.
Please help us send Russell to college and help him focus on JUST his studies!
