Thank-you for all the support!
Its been just over a week since completing the UTCT100km - what an awesome experience! I would like to thank everyone who supported me along the way.
Thank-you to everyone who was able to make a donation to Home of Hope as well as those that shared my posts on the various social medias.
I am pleased to say that in total (including offline donations), we have raised over R17000 for Home of Hope. Thank-you so much!
I am going to leave this campaign active until 13 December. If you know of anyone who would like to contribute, please urge them to do so before then.

Running A 100Kms with 4500m+ vert! Are you serious?
If someone had told me in March this year that I would be training for UTCT100km, I would have laughed at them.
For those that know me, know that I spend most Saturdays running with my fellow #trailmuppets in / around / over Table Mountain - its one of my happy places. I have entered the UTCT 35km race three times. First time - didn't finish. Second time - didn't start. 3rd time lucky! Earlier this year, I decided that I would enter Ultra-Trail Cape Town again, however I didn't want to just run for myself - I wanted to run for Home of Hope - a non-profit organisation that takes care of and educates children with special needs.
The past 18 months have been devistating for many people worldwide. Non-profit organisations that rely on fund-raisers have been severely impacted by lockdown - to say that times have been challenging is a HUGE understatement.
I feel very blessed and humbled to have remained healthly and employed during these tough times and want to give something back to my community.
Most of the children that find their way to Home of Hope, do so under the worst circumstances. I wanted to do something that will honour the amazing people at Home of Hope who bring hope to these children. I wanted to challenge myself, so this year I have entered the UTCT 100km. There is a little under 2 months to go till race day - 27 November 2021.
Running 100KM with over 4500m+ elevation gain is a big challenge both physically and mentally for me and I would really appreciate your support! By donating to Home of Hope you will keep me motivated to train and to keep going on race day!
Please donate what you can! Every bit helps! There is no need to wait till race day to donate!
With the backabuddy platform all donations are tracked so we will be able to see how much we have raised.
I would like to thank Proagrica (my employer) for sponsoring my entrance and for already having pledged (THANK-YOU!)
Thank-you to my #trailmuppets who inspire me and train with me week in and week out. You are all legends in my book!
Thank-you to my Wife (Helen) and kids (Liam and Dane) who have supported me in this journey.
Thank-you to Home of Hope for their work in the community.
