Roberto is both a recovering addict (6+ years) and an advocate for breaking stigma towards those with problematic substance use, through a non profit organisation, The Recovery Foundation.

He is well known in recovery circles, especially in Gauteng, and is known to go above and beyond to help those in need so they can find a new way of life away from the
horrors of addiction. He also does extensive work with the families of addicts as they require just as much help and attention as the addict themselves.

Roberto will be completing his sixth 94.7 cycle challenge, which is a full 94.7km cycle around greater Johannesburg. This is a person that could not even walk 10 meters without needing to stop to catch his breath when he began his own recovery journey!

This year, Roberto has opted to dedicate his 94.7 cycle challenge to The Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit which assists persons that cannot afford treatment options, to get into rehab.
a passion for meeting the needs of individuals seeking recovery. Any funds that are raised will go towards those that do not have the required funding for treatment.

In addition, Roberto will be cycling in remembrance to all those that lost their lives to this dreaded disease, especially to those close to him, and to those that beat the odds and are living their lives beyond their wildest dreams. With more help and care, more of us can beat this!
