Personal message

Hello friends and supporters. 

My name is Rele and I’m in need of your help to enable me to continue my studies. I’m an engineering student at Stellenbosch University with a year remaining. Unforeseen circumstances have unfortunately put completing my course at risk. I was sadly not able to secure a bursary for 2023 with every effort made.

My mother, who provides for our family, suffered 3rd degree burns to 40% of her body in October. As a result she is currently unable take on some opportunities that would have supplemented her salary as a teacher. These opportunities would have put her in a position to be able to cover a big portion of the outstanding fees. 

Completing my degree is not only a personal goal, but also a step towards a better future for myself and my family. I’ve overcome many challenges to still be here and truly don’t believe the road ends here for me, but I cannot do it alone.

Initially this campaign was set up in the hopes of raising funds to pay off my outstanding 2023 fees so that I could register for 2024 by mid-February. Now my hope is to cover those fees by the end of this year so that I can register and continue my studies in 2025. This decision is mostly because I cannot in good faith continue my studies in 2024 and do well knowing I've left my mother alone at the current stage she's in, in her recovery journey.
