Celebrating Champions: Olympic Medallist Bridgitte Hartley and Hilary Bruss Paddle for a Cause in Dusi Canoe Marathon 2024

Renowned former Olympic Bronze Medallist and three-time Olympic athlete, Bridgitte Hartley, alongside Hilary Bruss, are taking on the three-day Dusi Canoe Marathon, one of KZN’s oldest and most gruelling sporting events. Their mission goes beyond the thrill of the race; they are dedicating their efforts to fundraising for Project Rhino and supporting the vital initiatives it undertakes daily.

The Dusi Canoe Marathon is the biggest canoeing event on the African continent, and one of the world’s most popular river marathons, attracting between 900 and 1600 paddlers each year. It covers a punishing +- 120km between the cities of Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

You can support Bridgitte and Hilary in their efforts. Every contribution, whether it's R1 per km or a generous R100, holds immense value in making a positive impact. These funds act as a lifeline for Project Rhino, enabling the implementation of critical conservation initiatives, community engagement programs, and wildlife protection efforts.

All donations go directly to Project Rhino, ensuring that every cent contributes to the organization's impactful projects. For donation certificates or additional information, please reach out to [email protected]. Your support can make a meaningful difference!

Together, we can paddle towards a future where the beauty of our environment is preserved for generations to come.
