Personal message

Cape Kidney Association has been in existence since 1978. The purpose of our Association is to assist Indigent kidney patients on dialysis at the various Provincial Hospitals in and around the greater Western Cape.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 Lockdown, we have been unable to host our fundraising events, our main source of income. Therefore, our patients have not received support from us with our monthly Food Hampers, which is unfortunate.

We are appealing for donations to provide a substantial Food Hamper for our patients for the end of the year.

We support 160 patients on dialysis at Groote Schuur & Tygerberg Hospitals (80 plus 80). Each food hamper has been formulated by a dietician and consists of Non-Perishable items at the cost of an average of R250/R300 per hamper.

These food hampers enable patients to provide food for their families as most are on disability grants.

Charity Default Logo

The Cape Kidney Association was founded in 1978 by a group of Nephrology Doctors and Nurses who saw the need to assist the Indigent kidney patients. Patients travel from afar as there are no dialysis units close by. We serve majority patients in the Renal Unit at Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospitals. Most of the patients are unemployed and some of them receive disability grants.
