Personal message

My name is Oriana Naicker and I am 10 years old. I have entered the 947 cycle challenge.  

This will be my very first cycle race ever. I am excited and nervous.  My grandfather died (before I was even born) from cancer, and to honour his memory I want to make a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer. I feel I missed out so much by not having met him. 

Raising money for kids with cancer will make me feel good, knowing that doing this race is not only for fun but for a purpose, and raising this money would be able to bring smiles to many kids faces. 

The funds will be donated to Rainbows and Smiles directly. They are not funded by the government, and they rely on the generosity of supporters.  I was sad to learn that each year in South Africa, almost 1000 children are diagnosed with cancer.
