Nicky Spiwo Mlanjana is a young gifted individual, who is located in a small town called Hermanus in Western Cape. He is best known for his role of contribution in community development as a creative and as a writer of three best theatre plays which are "Voice Out; Endless Journey & Pandemic 2". Early life: Nicky Spiwo Mlanjana originates from small township of Thembisa in Joburg and comes from a home no creative. He was only encouraged to find a career in sports, Soccer and Rugby to mention. Years went by and developed an interest for theatre. Education: After matriculating, he wanted to study drama but failed due scarcity of funds. However the zeal to study drama made him approach the directors and expressed his desire to attend their lectures. He ended up opening a theatre organization "Spairo Art Foundation" and joining organisation called "Story Team Arts Projects" which consisted of body movement and play writing classes. Career: Having been in the industry for over 17 years, Mlanjana has worked with Thamsanqa AkaMbongo, Mbulelo Grootboom, Anele Maki, Abdul Abraham, Nhlanhla Den Mkwanazi, Celeste Loriston, Bongile Mantsai, Yongama Siwangaza, Mncedisi Happy Nani, Siyabonga Kumkani Betana, Mandisi Sindo and others in theatre. Nicky Spiwo Mlanjana is a founder NPO called "Spairo Art Foundation" which specializes in community development through Theatre and Poetry. He is also known for his Poem called "061 Uzindithente emnxebeni" in which the poem was staged in each and every township in Western Cape and also in Eastern Cape. Awards: In 2012 Nicky Spiwo Mlanjana was nominated for best supporting Actor for Yasika Inimba at the Buya Festival; B. Thom Theatre. And 2021 he was awarded for Best Director for Pandemic 2. Dira Foundation Drama Festival and we won the Festival as Best Production In 2021 he graduated in a Story Team "Actors in Training" Internship. In 2022/23 I won best Directory in DCAS Drama Festival and my organisation won best Production. Art is what I breathe and I live art it is in my blood. My aim is to uplift my community and put them in the Map, by getting funds will help obtain my degree and produce more fruitful stories. The costs are: • School Fees- R90 000 • Apartment Rent- R3500x10 months= R35 000 • Grocery- R1500x10 months= R15 000 • Traveling Fee- R1500x10 months= R15 000 Total= R155 000
