Personal message
Hi, My name is Neil and i am a spastic quadriplegic from birth. I have limited use off my arms and hands and no use of my legs, i am wheelchair bound.. Just because i am in a wheelchair doesn't mean life stops. Living in a wheelchair comes with challenges but most of the limits our community faces have been manufactured and perpetuated by stigmas and stereotypes.

SASAPD BOCCIA CHAMPIONSHIPS Campaign

Hello, I'm Neil, a spastic quadriplegic since birth, confined to a wheelchair with limited arm and hand function. Despite the challenges, life doesn't stop here. Many of our limitations stem from societal stigmas rather than inherent incapacity.
Living in a wheelchair doesn't equate to fragility; it's about embracing confidence and defying stereotypes. I've found empowerment through sports, particularly Boccia, where I earned recognition at the Western Province level and secured a place on the South African team after successful trials.
Now, I aim to compete in the South African Championships in March 2024, but I need your support to realize this dream. Together, let's challenge perceptions and champion inclusivity. Thank you for considering my journey.
Warm regards,
Neil Wilken
