Good day,
I hope this message finds you well. I know that you are extremely busy, but I would humbly like to ask for 60 seconds of your time.
My name is Mujaheed Martin and I am a 23 year old author currently residing in Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town. My community is stigmatized for gangsterism, drug & alcohol abuse and other negative connotations. Unfortunately, we see our youth falling victim to these traps on a daily basis. The heart-breaking factor in all of this is seeing them participating in these activities at a very tender age, leaving their parents in a complete state of hopelessness.
I decided that I would like to open a gaming lounge at my place of residence that occupies their time and acts as a safe space from these traps lurking in our communities. I'm doing the best that I possibly can to make this vision a reality with what I have, but I need some assistance.
This brings me to why I'm making this initial plea. I recently launched my digital book called You Made Me Do It.
The story takes place in Mitchell's Plain and is about a young girl who falls in love with a older guy but their relationship takes an extreme twist. The main theme of the book is to create awareness around revenge pornography. I'm selling my digital book at R100 a copy and all proceedings will go directly to launching the gaming lounge in my community.
I'm trying to raise a total of R15 000 which would cover the following items:
-A PlayStation 4 console
-2 Controllers
-Games that would appeal to the youth (Soccer, Racing, Wrestling, Etc.)
-Sufficient Seating
-LED Lighting
-Inverter (to be functional during loadshedding)
-Soundbar or any relatable sound equipment.
-Distribute food to the needy on the day of the official launch.
