Personal message
Every year thousands of children are diagnosed with Leukaemia and other bone marrow cancers. Their only chance of living is a transplant from a healthy donor. But chances of finding a donor are just 1 in 100,000 and this is where the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) comes in. They are the only Registry in South Africa and are dedicated to finding matching donors for those whose lives depend on it - now that's a challenge! As a nonprofit organisation, the SABMR relies on donations to keep up their life-saving work. This year our family have decided to do the epic IMPI Challenge in aid of the SABMR. The only one of its kind in South Africa, the SABMR is committed to helping every patient referred to it. If there is no matching donor in South Africa, we take our search worldwide - “We search the world to find your perfect match”.
