Personal message

It started in September with my daughter's challenge to join her in the 5km a day Rainbows & Smiles children with cancer challenges. 

Working and studying, I knew this was not going to be easy for her to fit everything into her schedule - not to mention she is not really into a sport, so this challenge will definitely be out of her comfort zone - but somehow she managed to do it all - the children and caregivers are a cause very close to her heart. She would remind me that we have a month-long challenge, but they have a daily indefinite battle...

Her dedication and commitment inspired me to keep going, and when the challenge was completed, we both decided to continue with the 94.7 challenge. 

Cancer is a deadly disease, and I would dare to say that there are very few people whose lives haven't been touched by cancer in one way or another.

The helpless feeling of standing by when a loved one is going through this ordeal is devastating, ripple affecting the rest of your life.
 
Joining the Rainbows & Smiles challenges allowed us to do our little part to help lighten the burden of the families supported by Rainbows & Smiles.

They provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child of the family is diagnosed with cancer.
