We have a colleague and friend in need - Marelyn Strydom - Age 37.
Marelyn has been experiencing back pain for the last six months that cannot be repaired with tablets, exercise, or physiotherapy.
The pain has been constant for the last six months and has in the last 3-4 weeks increased to a point where Marelyn cannot move some days.
As a very active mother of two girls, lying in bed has been very difficult.
Marelyn's MRI scan shows a nerve impingement in her lumber spine that requires surgical intervention. A surgery involving decompression and fusion is urgently required. Not having a medical aid is a very scary prospect knowing the cost of most surgeries. Unfortunately, this is the predicament she is in and with no other options we are asking support and help.
Cost for the surgery is estimated at R150 000.00.
