I have SEEN, having been there in 2019. When I first heard about the Beja people, something immediately stirred in my spirit. I wanted to know more about them. Norman Johnson of the Sudan Support Network (SSNet) invited me on a journey to Beja country, and the rest, as they say, is history.

 I have been privileged to connect with these precious Beja people on my first trip to their part of the African continent. What a journey it has been so far! Deep inside I simply KNOW the BEST is yet to come. 

It was an amazing privilege to be part of the decision-making process of how to bless the Beja people.  In Egypt, we’ve heard that eye care among the Beja people is a BIG DEAL. Only after a visit to an animal market in the area we visited did the penny really drop for us. The sunlight was super sharp and the market dusty. We then understood.

God blessed us in 2019 to fundraise towards blessing the Beja with eye surgeries. So blessed was this project that our field partners have requested us to expand the current (2021) fundraiser to include other medical needs among Beja peoples. The moment we received that request we knew this is spot on – the RIGHT thing to do now.

S4J is a fundraiser where athletes who run the Comrades marathon (and other races) raise funds to help the people of Sudan and South Sudan. We focus on providing help to war victims, as well as those in avoided and neglected communities where help is needed most.

The primary focus is providing these communities with access to clean water and assistance to those who share the Good News of Jesus Christ to those in need.
