Hello Family and Friends!

I’ll be huffing my way through the Cape Argus Cycle Tour for the first time on March 9th, and will be peddling for a very worthy cause – Afrika Tikkun.

This global not-for-profit organisation has been doing unbelievable work empowering the children of the townships from cradle to career, fuelled with the support of people like yourselves with a deep sense of social justice, a deep sense of “Ubuntu”.

They currently run 6 Community support centres across SA, and have offices in the UK, North America and Australia where they coordinate various activities to raise funds. Nelson Mandela was Patron in Chief of Afrika Tikkun, and other than his own children’s foundation, this is the only other foundation his legacy is directly involved with:

Every child deserves a fair start in life, so please join me in supporting this non-profit organisation by donating whatever you can for this event. As little as R120 feeds and educates a child for a whole month at Afrika Tikkun, so every little bit helps.

Afrika Tikkun

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
