The Little Optimist Sailing Academy, based in the heart of the Mother City, provides sailing therapy to marginalised and disadvantaged children from all over Cape Town. With our fleet of Optimist dinghies, we teach the children the basics of sailing and water safety, before giving them the chance to be the captain of their very own Optimist!
The program also focusses on the child's environment and influences, ocean health, plastic pollution and water safety. We use the Growth mindset to foster optimism, resilience, sustainability and hope.
Our program offers a super fun day of skills building, experiential learning and camaraderie This is an experience and opportunity that these kids would otherwise, never have had access to.
