I am Lihle Dyasi, and I'm reaching out to you with the hope that my journey towards becoming a medical professional resonates with your compassion and support. My path has been far from conventional, marked by resilience and determination.

My pursuit of medicine didn't unfold as planned in my first year. Instead, it led me to embark on a journey through a Bachelor of Health Science, specializing in Biomedical Science, and an Honours degree in Chemical Pathology. Despite initial setbacks, I persevered, and after many trials, I found my way into the Graduate Medical Programme (GEMP) at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Completing the 3rd year of the program was a significant achievement, a testament to the challenges I overcame. However, the joy was overshadowed and short lived by the looming unpaid tuition fees. Despite tireless efforts, I've been unable to secure funding this year. Rejections from all the bursaries I applied for and the ineligibility for NSFAS due to holding a prior degree. Moreover, my parents’ financial constraints have created a financial predicament.

I am now appealing to you, the community, friends, and individuals who understand the value of dreams and education. I need assistance in raising R250,000, a sum crucial to setting my current debt of R86,500 and covering registration and tuition fees for the upcoming 4th year. The urgency lies in the fear that without these funds, I may not be able to register for the next academic year, jeopardizing my dream of becoming a medical doctor.
