My Grand Daughter Jessica Du Plessis is a Beneficiary of the Smile Foundation, and therefore it lies close to my Heart to support this wonderful organisation. I am riding the Discovery Joburg 94.7 km race again this year and need your help to raise funds to make the Smile Foundation more successful to put Smiles on more Faces.
Jessica was born with Moebius disease and have no muscles to control facial expressions. Although my daughter, Janine and Jessica both went through tough times, they Stood strong and stay positive. She went through the first 11-hour operation to implant a small muscle from her leg into her face that made it possible to break a smile on the left-hand side. After this successful operation, Jessica is now awaiting the second operation to do the right-hand Side.
