Personal message

At an age where I should know better, I've decided to enter my first ever three-day event. Huff and I will be competing in the CCI-L 2* at Houghton International from the 26th to the 29th of May.

The class is full of pros and experienced amateurs. I'm not sure I'll be able to remember the dressage test - I've gone wrong before, and this one is long and complex. 

There are even more opportunities for sav nav errors and mishaps the next day on the cross country course. And if we do manage to get home, we face the accuracy demands of the showjumping on the following day.

While this is a daunting challenge for me, it's my choice, and it's nothing compared to what others are facing. I appeal to all my South African friends to dig as deep as possible into their pockets to help those who find themselves in desperate circumstances through no choice of their own.
