Personal message

My name is Kelebogile Mlambo, I am currently pursuing my 4th year in Medicine at Wits. With the many challenges I havefaced during my course of studying, funding has been the most difficult one as a student.

Studying medicine has always been a dream which I’ve held and intended to pursue from a very young age. I am a hardworking, meticulous and ambitious young lady, when I was unfortunately unable to study Medicine straight from high school, I was not discouraged from my dream. I worked tenaciously throughout the duration of my Bachelor’s degree and Honours degree in Biokinetics and was eventually admitted into medicine through the Wits Graduate Entry Medical Program in 2021. 

I have recently completed my 4th year, this joy was quickly overshadowed by the stress of my outstanding tuition fees as I knew this would pose as an obstacle to registering for my new year.  

I have applied tirelessly for bursaries since I started the degree but all my efforts have been in vain. I am also not eligible for NSFAS as I have a previous qualification. Coming from a single parented family has been a challenge on its own that has created a financial predicament, as my mother alone has not been able to afford to pay for my tuition fees.

I am now appealing to you to assist me in raising funds to pay for my outstanding fees to the value of R200 000. 50% of which, R100 000, is required for the university to allow me to register for my 5th year.
