A dream to walk

After he turned one he was diagnosed with a form of Cerebral Palsy. His brain wasn't affected - he speaks perfectly fine. The major concern is the stiffness in his legs. Juvandré will be 5 this year and cannot crawl or walk. We have been to numerous doctors and therapists. We tried physio, OT, he had splints, he had a walker and we tried Baclofen. Our dream for him always has been and always will be, to be mobile and to be able to walk and run with his little brother, to be able to kick ball with him and just to be a child with a normal life. His dream is to play rugby. He will sit and stare for hours with a smile on his face as the kids around him run and play. It tears my mother heart to pieces. He is really such an example of always staying positive. He really has a positive mindset.

 

Through this journey we have been very blessed to have a great support structure in family and friends who supports us emotionally and financially. We are also privileged to have a medical aid but unfortunately the treatment that he needs now is not covered by the medical aid. We found a doctor in White River, Mpumalanga, that can do stem cell therapy. This will consist of platelets, laser therapy and then also stem cells. We also have accommodation and travel costs that we need to cover as we are just over 4 hours away from White River. 

 

My little boy is very strong willed and he never ever gives up and therefore we want to be able to give him the best possible chance in life and we need your help. If it's not possible for a donation, please just keep us and him in your prayers, as that is also much needed for us to keep on believing and for our faith to remain strong.
