Personal message
As a Speech Therapist, I cannot stress the importance of communication in the World. Language is powerful and affects every single person every single day in some way or another. One form of language is gesture or facial expression.
A quote that I'm reading right now states that "we all smile in the same language". A smile is a powerful means of expressing emotions without words. In fact, as I scroll down the page, there are so many smiling quotes out there...
"Smiling is infectious, you can catch it like the flu. Someone smiled at me today. And I started smiling too", "I love when you look at someone with a smile on your face, and they break into a smile back at you not because they know why you're smiling, but because you're happy, and that's enough to make them happy" and "A healthy smile can improve your confidence, help you make friends and help you to succeed in your career.
Sadly, people often avoid others with facial disfiguration and thereby causing them to experience emotional and social difficulties. Simply enabling a person to smile is equivalent to changing and saving a life.
Please help me help the Smile Foundation to create some smiles :)
