Hi, I am not the type to ask for this sort of thing, but I am in a bit of a squeeze.

My lower jaw is constricting my airway. Where it is considered normal to have an opening of 6-11 mm at the narrowest point in your airway, mine is at 2.53 mm. This means that I do not get nearly enough oxygen to function normally, and this severely influences my quality of life. I struggle to exercise, I wake up several times a night as I can't breathe when sleeping, and my mental health is also being severely affected.

I need to undergo a BSSO procedure, and although I am in the fortunate position of being on a medical aid, the medical aid covers less than half my procedure. There are ancillary hospital expenses, devices, etc. that are also not covered.

My discs in my TM joints are also severely damaged due to this, and I will need to go for follow-up surgeries to correct/replace these discs. I am unsure at this stage what the financial implications of this will be, but I am dreading the thought completely.

I would appreciate ANY type of assistance with these expenses.

Contrary to popular belief in society, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with cosmetics. It will however change my life radically, as I am struggling to function as a result of lack of oxygen and proper sleep.

The funds raised will be used for medical expenses not covered by the medical aid. I just want to live a normal life. Any help would be appreciated more than one can comprehend.

Hi there,

I'm reaching out because I'm facing a serious health issue with my lower jaw constricting my airway, leaving me with only 2.53 mm of space instead of the normal 6-11 mm. This severely impacts my ability to get enough oxygen, affecting my daily life, exercise, sleep, and mental health.
