Our son Jayden Wilson, 14 years old, has been chosen as Goalkeeper for the u19 football team invited to participate in the Dallas Cup International Youth Soccer tournament from the 19 March to 31st March 2024.

The Dallas Cup is the most prestigious youth soccer tournament in the United States and it is widely regarded as one of the most competitive in the world. There are 35 countries being represented at the Dallas Cup, with two invitational teams going from South Africa. Teams such as Liverpool FC, Brazil’s São Paulo FC and Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt will be participating in the tournament..

Jayden is extremely passionate about soccer and has spent the last couple of years focused solely on the goalkeeping position, he trains and / or plays matches 6 to 7 days each week throughout the entire year, giving his coaches a break between Christmas and New Year.

Jayden is being coached by Michael Carstens and Darren Keet. Initially, Michael saw a natural goalkeeping talent in Jayden and offered to coach him specifically in this position which gave Jayden insight and technical knowledge into goalkeeping. Darren is the current Cape Town City Goalkeeper and former South Africa’s Bafana Bafana Goalkeeper, he has also played internationally. Jayden has shown such commitment to the game and is determined to succeed. Through tenacity and diligence, he is fortunate to be chosen to play for the U19 team. In 2023, at 13 years old, he played as an U16 Goalkeeper.

The funds raised will be purely used for tour costs including flights, accommodation and costs incurred whilst in the United States.

Reaching this target and participating in such a prestigious tournament at a top level, at the age of 14 in a team that is 3 to 4 years his senior, is an unbelievable achievement and a once in a lifetime opportunity. This will truly make his dream become a reality.
