Personal message
I started having a passion for helping disadvantaged children when I started working for KFC in 2007. I did not get to where I am easy due to having lost my parents and not having shoes or lunch for school as a child. I have personally experienced hardships and this is what motivates me to help where I can.
This is the reason I have decided to Ride for a Child this year. Along with the ADDHope initiative of KFC, giving back has been a culture for me, and the fact that a child will be getting food on the table and shoes for school is motivation.
Jade is my little buddy and she recently joined Home of Hope. It is her first home environment that she has ever experienced since she was removed from her biological parents.
She is a bubbly little girl that can easily adapt as she already has built sister and brother relationships with all the other children in the house. She faces some health concerns due to having Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and has difficulties in learning due to this. She is currently 12 years old and in Grade 1. I am cycling on behalf of Jade so that Home of Hope can continue to provide for her needs.
Funds raised through this campaign will go towards the daily home care and the specialised education of Jade. Home of Hope will do all possible to provide her with the best services that will meet her unique needs and provide her with opportunities for a brighter future.
