Personal message
Life gets so busy that we tend to forget how blessed we are to be able to participate in sporting and various social events. There are many children that grow up and need special care. The kiddies at Heneka Haven have special needs, but this does not deter from the great joy these little ones bring to every person they come in contact with.
I will be doing the Momentum 94.7 cycle challenge on 16 Novemer 2014 in order to raise some funds for these litle ones. Every child deserves a chance at a quality life and this is my part in providing just a little more sunshine for these special little people.

Haneka Haven

What is Heneka Haven? Based in Pretoria, and linked to the Doxa Deo East Church, Heneka Haven is a home caring for abandoned children with special needs. The biological parents usually abandon these children due to their severe mental and physical disabilities, which include being blind and deaf, suffering from epilepsy and a number of other serious conditions. Some are also HIV positive with a generally short life expectancy. History of the charity? Heneka Haven has existed for about ten years, at present we’ve got 11 children with us. What will the funds be used for? Our day to day expenses are very high, all of our babies is on nappies, due to their disabilities. We use more or less between 80 and 90 nappies per day, 2 of our bigger babies is on young adult nappies, which is very expensive. Due to their low immune systems they get sick very quick, so our medical expenses are very high.
