Personal message
Jacques and I will be cycling in the 2015 Cape Town Cycle Tour to raise money for the Children's Hospital Trust. 100% of every cent we raise will go towards the implementation of a Speech-Language Therapy & Audiology Service.
So here is the deal - we will do the hard peddling but we need your help. Please consider supporting our efforts by making a contribution to this great cause. Whether small or large, your donation will collectively make a BIG difference and help the Trust give thousands of children the gift of sound.
Speech, language and hearing problems are among the most common childhood disorders. If addressed early, their impact can be limited and there is a dire need to expand speech & hearing services in the Western Cape.
At the Red Cross Children's Hospital, long waiting lists mean that children's recovery is compromised by delays. This programme will pilot a newly-designed model for Speech-Language Therapy and Audiology services in Mitchell's Plain, one of the hospital's main feeder zones, so that children will have easy access to prevention, screening, rehabilitation and treatment in their community for the first time.
This will give many more children with speech & hearing difficulties a chance at normal development, and free up the Red Cross Children's Hospital to treat children with serious conditions quickly and effectively. Once refined, this model will be implemented accross all levels of the healthcare system.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

The Children's Hospital Trust

A hospital dedicated entirely to children – especially children predominantly from impoverished communities throughout Africa – is critically important. So important, that it needs a champion to make sure that it’s able to keep doing the phenomenal work it does.
That champion is the Children’s Hospital Trust.
