Personal message
Most people call me Gus,
I'm married to Heather, and together we have two beautiful children and three crazy dogs. I love cycling, and I am so excited to have this opportunity to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour and raise funds and awareness for a child at Home of Hope.
The most exciting thing about this campaign is that every cent donated goes to helping this wonderful sibling pair, Amber and Grace.
Amber and Grace came to Home of Hope in 2018 after being abandoned and neglected by their family. After moving between foster families and children's homes, they finally found their forever Home at Home of Hope.
Amber and Grace have experienced extreme trauma growing up, making it difficult to settle in at a new Home. Still, with consistent love and support, Amber and Grace have overcome many challenges they once experienced due to their trauma.
This year I would like to raise R12 000 towards the immediate Care and needs of Amber and Grace to assist them in growing up in a suitable Home environment that every child deserves.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour will take place on the 12th of March 2023.

Home of Hope

Home of Hope was started in 2005, and we are an NPO that cares for abandoned and abused children and children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD – permanent brain damage caused by pre-natal exposure to alcohol). We are a registered place of safety and we have 19 children in our long term community based foster care.
The organisation also caters for the special educational needs of children suffering from FAS (Foetal Alcohol Syndrome) and neurological challenges, in our Amathemba Learning Centre. There are currently 37 children at our Amathemba Learning Centre.
