Personal message

We are reaching out for help to assist with this fundraising project whereby funds are raised for the Guild Cottage in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Guild Cottage is an NPO section 18A registered organization caring for abused daughters between the ages of 6 and 18. Guild Cottage needs all the help they can get, and we endeavour to raise enough funds for the replacement of their current transport (Kombi, which is falling apart), as well as the installation of a borehole, as their current water bill is around R90,000 per month.

Marinda and I are cycling from JHB to Cape Town to raise these funds, per the 1000 miler event route (JHB 2 Blouberg). Depending on weather conditions, we plan to complete this fully unsupported MTB (Mountain Bike) event within 8 days. Both of us are endurance cyclists with a history of endurance events, ranging from triathlons to 1200km overseas events.

The Toyota Hi-Ace16 seater will assist in transporting the girls for their day-to-day needs, treatments, sports events and excursions.

The borehole will free up R90,000 per month in running costs that could be used to provide food, medical and other essential living expenses.

The funds will be used to purchase a Toyota Hi-Ace 16 seater, which currently costs around R550,000.

Around R150,000 will be allocated for installing a borehole, including the equipment, to free up the current cost of the water supply of around R90,000 per month.
