I am Dr Fatimah Lambat a specialist Anaesthesiologist and intensivist in the south. My brother in law is Ozeyr Ahmed Chartered Accountant Partner at his firm.

When covid hit, we, as doctors felt like we were participating in a war. That's when I contacted gift of the givers and together we set up an emergency disaster covid facility. Since then I've been part of this crew. Their principles align with our principles in terms of helping people.

Ozeyr and I decided to dedicate our participation in the Soweto Marathon to raising funds for Gift of the Givers as they stand as a beacon of hope to the people of Gaza.

The Soweto Marathon, Not just a marathon - A trip through history- Our South African history -The history of Apartheid.

Running a route that echoes the sounds of Apartheid.. Walter Sisulu square.. Vilakazi street.. Hector Peterson memorial.. amongst others- Landmarks that bear testimony to the atrocities of the past

Running this route, hearing the echoes of our past will amplify the sounds out of Gaza.Each step reverberating the horrors subjected to our brothers and sisters in Palestine presently

A total of 42.2km (21.1km each), we aim to raise awareness with every step and raise donations toward the Palestinian cause. 🇵🇸

We urge you to donate a minimum of R10 a kilometer or more towards the Gift of the Givers Palestinian Relief Cause.
